L'Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream with SPF30 Review!

In case you didn’t know, the weather in the UK at the moment is beautiful! And by beautiful, I mean it is unbearably hot. But I won’t complain... it’s so rare that we get any sun at all so I’ll just write this review before I melt!

Initially I was going to do a ‘Summer Savours’ kind of post, but I’ve been using one product in particular that deserves a whole post to itself. I don’t know about anyone else, but I find wearing foundation in this kind of heat torture! While I love having a good level of coverage on my face, it’s not the best thing for your skin during the summer months and it can be really uncomfortable.

Recently I have been using L'occitane Sublime Beauty Cream with SPF30, which is basically L'occitane’s version of the BB cream. I have always loved L’occitane because their products are so different and I find the staff so lovely and genuinely helpful. After trying and loving the Angelica range, I was prompted to buy this because I have been after something a little bit lighter than foundation for quite a while.

The packaging, as ever with L’occitane, is beautiful! The box is has a clean and simplistic appearance with clear information and instruction. The idea behind the Sublime Beauty Cream is quite similar to most other BB cream’s on the market. It combines all the benefits of a moisturiser with sun protection and a hint of colour to leave your skin looking plump and healthy but still protected.

The product comes in a small, light tube that is easy to squeeze out for quick application. The first thing I noticed is the quality of the product. The consistency isn’t too runny or creamy and it sinks perfectly into the skin with little effort. The second thing I love is the smell! It has a lovely floral summery scent but isn’t too over perfumed and it doesn’t cling to your skin.

At £25 for 40ml, a little goes a long way with this one and while I have had some blending issues, this is mainly down to my Casper skin tone. Having said that, a wider selection of colours would be nice but is nothing a little working in can’t solve. Over the past week I have been wearing this in the baking hot sun while doing to some pretty lengthy walking and it has sat so nicely on my skin all day. If I do get a bit hot it doesn’t feel like my face is going to slip off and at the same time I know my skin is protected!

Overall, I’m so happy with this BB cream and I definitely think it scores 9/10!

What BB creams have you been using?
